Due to the fact that my cosplay photos are showing up in all sorts of places without any credit--and sometimes with others TAKING credit--I have decided that from now on, I'm going to watermark all of my photos, and eventually I will replace all the existing ones with the watermark as well.
I really hate to do this, but I am so tired of seeing things I've worked so hard on get thrown around without any respect for me and all the time and effort I've put into making this cosplay. My photographers get the shaft as well when there is no credit.
Most terrible of all, I actually caught other people taking the credit and claiming that they were the one in the photo.
This is not okay, and as such, there will now be proof of who is in the photo and who worked their ass off to make such a great cosplay. I know some groups don't allow photos to be submitted with watermarks, but to be honest, I think it's worth it. I'm sorry to have to scar my photos, but I'm so tired of other people throwing my pictures around without any thought for the artist.
Anyway, sorry for the rant. Thank you to those of you who ask permission and source your photos. You have no idea how amazing that is. It's too bad there are those few who ruin everything for everyone else. ):
people have to pretend to be other people to get attention. I'm glad at least you'll
still be cosplaying.
